Cancellation of the 2020 Higher Education Summit and Premier's Awards gala

As colleges need to focus on managing the wide-ranging and ongoing challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, Colleges Ontario has made the difficult decision to cancel the Higher Education Summit and Premier’s Awards gala for this year.

We will continue to run the Board Excellence and Leadership Excellence programs. Sessions such as good governance and board orientation that are usually in-person pre-conference sessions at the Higher Education Summit will be offered remotely in 2020. More information on dates, times and formats will be released in the near future.

Thank you and we hope to see you at the 2021 conference and gala, which are set for November 27 to 29, 2021.

Hotel and travel

The conference will be taking place at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. The address is:

Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel
123 Queen Street West
Toronto, ON M5H 3M9

As the designated conference hotel, the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel has reserved a block of rooms for delegates. The special room rate for the conference is $189 plus taxes per night for a standard room or double room. The special rate is only available until 5 p.m. on Friday November 5 until the room block has been filled. You may still make a reservation after November 5 but room rates will vary and are subject to availability.

Please book your rooms in advance. If you are booking on behalf of a group, please ensure you assign a guest’s name to the room and only reserve the amount you need. Unlike in the past, the hotel will not be creating sub-blocks for colleges to hold rooms. Therefore, the colleges will have to book directly into the main block on a first-come-first-serve basis.

If you would like to make a hotel reservation, please call the reservations office by dialing 1-888-627-7175 and reference the Higher Education Summit or Colleges Ontario. You may also reserve online by going to Higher Education Summit 2021 (OR copy and paste the following link into a web browser) https://www.marriott.com/events/start.mi?id=1628616720434&key=GRP.
